The Atlanta Chevre Minyan and The Goodman Institute have partnered to create a new Jewish learning experience in Atlanta. Marked by participatory, active learning, all are invited to these monthly sessions which feature instruction and study by diverse group of educators and religious leaders from all denominational backgrounds.

Debra Shaffer Seeman

 

Rabbi Michael Bernstein

Debra has been an avid teacher of classical Jewish texts for the past 20 years and has served in a variety of educational settings in Israel and North America.  Most recently, Debra served as the Principal of Rambam Atlanta Day School. Debra brings a depth of experience in building learning communities, mentoring educators, and fostering a love of learning in students of all ages. Her Masters in Education from Harvard University focused on Moral Development. Debra is the mother of two gorgeous girls and is married to Rabbi Dr. Don Seeman.

Since his ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1999, Rabbi Michael Bernstein has been the Senior Rabbi at Congregation Bnai Jacob in Longmeadow, MA from 1999-2004, and at Congregation Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley, PA from 2004-2008.

Rabbi Bernstein has a special interest in developing programs that combine meaningful approaches to Jewish thought and actions with ethical directives inherent in our tradition.  He has taught Introduction to Judaism and Living our Judaism adult education courses focused on creating meaningful and relevant family experiences in the home for people from all backgrounds.
