The Atlanta Chevre Minyan and The Goodman Institute have partnered to create a new Jewish learning experience in Atlanta. Marked by participatory, active learning, all are invited to these monthly sessions which feature instruction and study by diverse group of educators and religious leaders from all denominational backgrounds.

About the instructors:

Rabbi Albert Slomovitz

 

Rabbi Ellen Nemhauser

Albert Slomovitz received his Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his Master’s and Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. He was ordained in 1979 and served as a Chaplain in the United States Navy for twenty years. He is a published author and is an Assistant Professor at Kennesaw State University.

 

Rabbi Slomovitz has been a Pastoral Counselor, with more than thirty years of experience in pre-wedding and marital counseling.

Albert Slomovitz and his wife of 35 years, Gail, have four children. They currently reside in Marietta, Georgia. In addition to his teaching responsibilities he works as a volunteer chaplain with local and federal law-enforcement agencies.

Rabbi Ellen Nemhauser lives in Sandy Springs, GA with her husband and three children. After ordination from New York campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion she completed the course in the Masters of Jewish Education Program. Rabbi Nemhauser then served as interim Director of the National Department for Jewish Education for the Union for Reform Judaism. After moving to Cincinnati, Ohio Rabbi Nemhauser directed a program of Continuing Studies for Rabbinic Alumni of HUC-JIR. Rabbi Nemhauser holds an Honors Degree in Music Education from the University of Toronto and continues to sing in choral groups and ensembles.
